The 3D printer is a favorite in the makerspace. There are several tutorials for 3D printing on the site because it can be a complex process. This page explains how the printer works and also links to the tutorials on how to use it.
About the printer:
The makerspace has a CraftBot XL printer. Technically, it could print a block of plastic that was 12x8x17 inches, but we rarely print anything close to that size. The CraftBot prints by heating up plastic filament until it melts and then squirting really small lines of it in a pattern. The item that you’re printing is built up in layers until it is complete.
